Annie Steen is an Inuvialuk woman born and raised in Tuktoyaktuk.  Annie has experience working in economic and community development and has committed herself to helping businesses succeed while improving the lives and welfare of the members of our communities.

In anticipation of the new Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway, Annie helped to develop and implement a strategic plan that focused on community readiness and providing opportunities for tourism operators, artists and residents. She led the initiative to paint our community homes by liaising directly with the paint supplier, as well as engaging, training and supervising a team of workers. 

In 2017, Annie initiated a project to design and develop plans for a cultural centre to be built in Tuktoyaktuk. She worked with a small committee and applied for grants to fund the design and architectural plans for the project.

Annie has a background in Business Management and Leadership.  She currently works as a Community Relations advisor for the Government of the NWT.
